John Sykes, a former member of Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake, has passed away at age 65 after battling cancer.
Sykes was remembered as a talented musician and a kind, charismatic individual who marched to the beat of his own drum.
He played a significant role in Thin Lizzy’s ‘Thunder and Lightning’ album and Whitesnake’s self-titled album, co-writing hits like “Is This Love.”
Despite his musical chemistry with David Coverdale, their personal relationship was strained, leading to difficulties.
Sykes also had a tenure with Tygers of Pan Tang and later formed Blue Murder, releasing solo albums that paid tribute to his earlier career highlights.
