Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith is excited to play the song “Sick as a Dog” live with his new band, Close Enemies, as he had been wanting to include it in Aerosmith’s set for a long time.
Hamilton co-wrote “Sick as a Dog” and finds it simple, freeing, and reminiscent of the Byrds’ guitar sounds, which he loves.
He said in a new interview, “ … ‘Sick as a Dog,’ I’ve been dying to play that song live for so long. I was having trouble getting the guys in Aerosmith to put it in the set. I realized, ‘Alright, this is my chance! Now I get to hear that song on stage again.’”
“Sweet Emotion,” another song co-written by Hamilton, is a signature performance for him with Aerosmith, featuring a slinky bass line that he enjoyed playing.
Close Enemies plans to release their first single in January and will follow up with additional songs in February and March, aiming to engage listeners and build momentum in the current music era.
The band is focused on a strategic release plan for their music, aiming to capture and maintain audience interest by releasing singles incrementally before potentially releasing a full album.
