Alex Van Halen has confirmed longstanding rumors about an Eddie Van Halen tribute tour.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Alex says plans were in place for a reunion tour that would have included Joe Satriani on guitar and either Michael Anthony or Jason Newsted on bass.
Why didn’t it happen? Alex points fingers at David Lee Roth, who he says “popped a fuse” over the idea of directly recognizing Eddie Van Halen during the show.
Alex also reveals that he suffered a major spinal injury in 2022 that left him unable to play drums.
Alex will have a lot more to say about Eddie in his new memoir, Brothers, due out Oct. 22nd.
