If there is anyone to take up the mantle of America’s sweetheart after the unfortunate death of Betty White, it’s Bill Murray. And if there is anything I would want on my bucket list it is to have a random interaction with BFM (that’s Bill F**king Murray just in case you don’t know) just like a lucky group of passerbyers in New York City’s Washington Square Park.
Bill, with the help of cellist Jan Vogler, violinist Mira Wang and pianist Vanessa Perez, entertained the crowd with an assortment of Broadway hits including “It Ain’t Necessarily So” from Porgy and Bess and “America” from West Side Story. The actor also performed Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s poem Dog.
Many people went on to comment on the footage with comments such as “Protect him at all cost[s]. He’s a ray of sunshine,” one fan wrote as another added: “He is what we needed today.”
Bill Murray truly is America’s crazy Uncle that we all love to see around the holidays or randomly when we least expect it. Let us know what you think of Bill’s singing!
