Baby Huey & Chasta chat with local neXt2rock finalist Pushing The Sun. Based in the Bay Area, Pushing The Sun has been bringing the light with the fire since 2012. Steaming from the same vein of influences like Stone Temple Pilots and Alice In Chains, the band has a balanced yet dynamic sound blending melodic rhythms with the classic heavy rock.
Breaking traditional fashion, the band entered the neXt2rock competition because 107.7 The Bone is the beacon of music right now, notes vocalists Andrew Saman. He adds that Baby Huey & Chasta “are building momentum within the local music scene and are the faces that are connected with building that music community that i’m so found of, and kind of protective of it at the same time – and when you guys get going on something, I want to be apart of it too.”
What’s next? Pushing The Sun has been working hard on some news things dropping in 2018. The neXt2rock local finalist will be announced on November 21st, and the top five nationally voted best bands will take the stage on December 12th at the iconic Viper Room in Los Angeles. The winner will receive a deal with Big Machine/John Varvatos Records and radio airplay.. and be named neXt2rock.
