Baby Huey & Chasta chat with local neXt2rock finalist Dave Friday Band. With ambitious of sharing his own music, Bay Area staple Dave Friday has written and recorded over 170 songs over the past decade, and has just been waiting on his dream band. Fast forward to a year ago in December 2016, when the Dave Friday Band was formed after finding three like mind friends and seasoned vets that have helped bring the songs to life. The band embodies the sound of fun party rock with taking influences from Tesla, Y&T, Tom Keifer and Eric Martin.
With rock and roll alive, the band entered the neXt2rock because they “just want to spread the the love, and be the best that we can be….we’re having so much fun, and I just want to take this as far as we can” Friday adds. The band just opened for Cinderella earlier this month but has a few additional pop up shows through the end of the year before kicking off 2018 strong with a show at the Catalyst on January 20th with Y&T.
The neXt2rock local finalist will be announced on November 21st, and the top five nationally voted best bands will take the stage on December 12th at the iconic Viper Room in Los Angeles. The winner will receive a deal with Big Machine/John Varvatos Records and radio airplay.. and be named neXt2rock.
