Tom Petty Recalls Aggressive Crowd in Resurfaced Film

Tom Petty recalled getting “beat up” by the crowd at the December 1978 Winterland Concert in San Francisco.

Petty acknowledged the danger of an out-of-control crowd, stating, “The crowd, out of control is dangerous. I was beat up pretty good there.”

Despite the incident, Petty did not hold anything against the audience, mentioning, “I’m the one who stirred it all up in the first place.”
