Pantera bassist Rex Brown says his favorite guitar solo from Dimebag Darrell was almost left on the cutting room floor.
Brown told Guitar World that Dimebag’s solo from “Planet Caravan”, a Black Sabbath cover, was so good “I had to leave the room.”
But Darrell, apparently, “thought it sucked” and wanted to delete it. Brown convinced him to keep the take and it ended up going on the record: “I was literally in tears.”
