U2’s Larry Mullen Jr. has always struggled with numbers – and now he knows why.
The 63-year-old drummer has been diagnosed with Dyscalculia, a learning disability that makes it hard to count or understand numbers.
He told Times Radio that the condition is “a sub-version of dyslexia” and said it affects his drumming: “Counting bars is like climbing Everest.”
About 3-7% of adults and children have dyscalculia, including celebrities like Cher and Robbie Williams.
Mullen is a producer on the new documentary Left Behind, about New York City’s first public school for dyslexic children.
