Primus ‘Shocked’ By Drummer’s 3rd Departure

In a move that’s left his bandmates just as shocked as it has his fans, drummer Tim “Herb” Alexander has abruptly quit Primus. Again.

YouTube, @Primus.

“We received an email from Tim ‘Herb’ Alexander expressing that, effective immediately, he would no longer be involved with Primus,” reads a statement released by the band. “It came as a complete shock to all of us here in the Primus camp. On the heels of a wonderful spring and summer of touring and some fabulous plans ahead, it has been a bit bewildering for us that Herb would so abruptly opt out.” The statement goes on to say Alexander claims to have “lost his passion for playing.”

It’s not the first time Alexander has allegedly hung up his sticks for good. He first left the band in 1996, then rejoined when the band reformed in 2003. In 2010, he quit again, only to return in 2013.
