Nikki Sixx opened up about Mötley Crüe’s decision to move on from guitarist Mick Mars in a new interview with Classic Rock magazine.
Sixx says “It was becoming harder and harder and harder to get anything done with Mick because of his memory problems and just his physical ailments.”
He said they made the decision to hire John 5 after Mars quit touring, adding “doing the right thing isn’t always ****ing fun.”
Mars has a different view of the situation, claiming he was forced out and filing a lawsuit over lost revenues.
