Days away from the release of “Archives Vol. III,” Neil Young has shared an unreleased live version of “Thrasher.”

The track was cut during the first of two shows at the Boarding House in San Francisco on May 27, 1978, when Young performed 10 shows across five nights there.

Unlike the official version off “Rust Never Sleeps”, the song isn’t kicked off by the usual harmonica, but instead, features a simple strum of Young’s acoustic guitar.

“Thrasher” follows “Bright Sunny Day,” another previously unreleased track.

Overall, “Archives Vol. III” boasts 28 hours of 198 tracks over 22 discs.
