Sammy Hagar has some regrets about how things played out with Eddie Van Halen.
He told AZ Central that he would have “tried even harder” to reconnect with his former bandmate if he’d known about his health struggles.
If he’d known the extent of Eddie’s struggles with both cancer and alcoholism, Hagar says he might have “been a little more compassionate, instead of saying ‘F*** it.”
Hagar’s current ‘Best Of All Worlds’ tour is heavy on Van Halen material from both the ‘Van Hagar’ and David Lee Roth eras.
Eddie Van Halen died in 2020 at the age of 65.
