Gary Holt, the guitarist for Slayer, “loves” Taylor Swift.
The thrash metal icon says he would much rather listen to pop music than heavy metal, preferring to play recordings by artists like Taylor Swift, Madonna, and the late George Michael.
The 60-year-old musician finds it incomprehensible that the 34-year-old Grammy winner is the target of so much “hate.” “Why all the hate? She’s an extraordinarily hard worker, she’s super f****** nice to everybody, and people hate her. She’s just the biggest pop star on Earth, and more power to her. I like the songs!” said Holt on the “Scandalous” podcast.
Holt says he’s also a fan of The Queen of Pop; Gary would sing out Madonna’s hit song “Angel” after having too much to drink, much to the dismay of Conrad Lant of Venom, his tour companion.
