James Kottak, former drummer for Scorpions and Kingdom Come, has died at the age of 61.
Per TMZ, Kottak died Tuesday morning in his hometown of Louisville, KY.
Kottak spent two decades behind the drum kit with Scorpions, playing with the band from 1996 until 2016.
He was also a founding member of Kingdom Come in the late 80’s and had brief stints with Dio, Warrant, Montrose, and other bands.
In an interview from last April, Kottak admitted that he’s struggled with alcohol throughout his career.
