McCartney brought it up on the latest episode of his A Life in Lyrics podcast: “I thought it was pretty good actually… I was more amazed that they would actually do it, this young American group. I was very happy that they had done it. I always like people doing my songs.“
McCartney said his children, who were school-aged at the time, would actually get into arguments with other kids who insisted that GN’R had written the song instead of their dad.
