Sammy Hagar says a long-rumored Eddie Van Halen tribute show isn’t going to happen.

Appearing on the YouTube series That Rocks!, Hagar says he’s reached out to Alex Van Halen but hasn’t heard back.

“It’s the same old story. It’s the same old f**king story. Alex [Van Halen] won’t respond to me. I reach out to him. I haven’t done it in a long time now, ’cause it’s, like, ‘Hey, you wanna talk to me? Call me.’ But there’s not going to be a Van Halen reunion,” explained Hagar.

Hagar also said there’s “No way” David Lee Roth would cooperate, and that Eddie’s son Wolfgang is busy with his band Mammoth WVH.

“I’m not trying to start a feud between the two of us. But I love the guy, and I love Van Halen, what we did together… Al is the most stubborn Taurus. He’s a Taurus, and he’s the most stubborn Taurus. Tauruses are known for [being] stubborn. He’s a Dutch Taurus, and he is the most stubborn, hard-headed guy you’ll ever meet in your life.” Hagar continued, “And he is tough to [break] down and to let go. Nope — he’s holding on to something. And I just wish he wasn’t like that. I love the guy.

While he doesn’t believe a full reunion will ever happen, Hagar won’t rule out a ‘half reunion’ with Mike Anthony and Alex Van Halen.
