U2 has “a lot of great material in the pipeline.”
A record called ‘Songs Of Ascent’ has been heavily teased by the band, and frontman Bono said he first wants to release “a noisy, uncompromising, unreasonable guitar album.”
Discussing new music, The Edge said, “I’ve been working a lot on new guitar music, and I’m very excited about it. It’s at that prototype stage where – who knows? But the answer to the question [about new music] is ‘yes.’ I’m finding myself for the first time in a little while getting very excited about the electric guitar again. Maybe it’s something to do with the lockdown, having the time to not do very much. We have a lot of great material in the pipeline.”
Recently, Edge said that the “timing is right” for U2 to return to their rock roots, stating “I think the guitar is coming back. I really feel it. And I would like to be part of that.”
