Dave Grohl is putting his BBQ skills to work for a good cause.
The Foo Fighters’ frontman showed up at Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission in Los Angeles around midnight on Wednesday with a massive meat smoker.
Grohl spent the next 16 hours whipping up ribs, pork butt, brisket, cabbage, coleslaw, and beans. He handled all the expenses himself and slept in the parking lot while the meat was getting smoked.
Through his efforts, Grohl helped feed around 450 homeless individuals and 50 staffers at the Hope of Valley rescue shelter in California. Grohl’s philanthropic move comes ahead of major storms predicted to hit Southern California.
Hope Of The Valley’s CEO Rowan Vansleve celebrated Grohl in an Instagram post stating, “And in the middle of our 350 mile run to end homelessness, we got the coolest video ever from Dave Grohl, of the Foo Fighters. Not only did [he] wish us luck, but he cooked for hundreds of people who live in our shelters in the middle of one of the worst storms. Nothing but love and respect for Dave.”
