Despite TMZ’s false reporting, Jerry Lewis is alive.
“He’s alive. TMZ reported erroneously off of a bulls–t anonymous tip,” the “Great Balls of Fire” singer’s rep said on Wednesday.
Following their incorrect announcement that Lewis passed away in his Memphis home, TMZ released the following statement:
“We’re told the rock ‘n’ roll legend is alive, living in Memphis. Earlier today we were told by someone claiming to be Lewis’ rep that he had passed. That turned out not to be the case. TMZ regrets the error.”
Before TMZ corrected their misreporting, similar outlets began reporting Lewis’s death and credited TMZ as the source. Shortly after, all outlets retracted their statements.
With all the misreporting of Jerry Lee Lewis passing, Baby Huey was hoping to finally get on the infamous “Death Poll” board. But, unfortunately, no points for Huey…at least for now.
