Jeff Watson, a founding member of Night Ranger, is reportedly on the mend after undergoing brain surgery, he revealed on Friday.
The 65-year-old guitarist, who recently returned home after a stay in a San Francisco hospital, says he went under the knife earlier this month. “I’ve been in ICU for two weeks after having two holes drilled through my skull, for access to my brain, to put in a drain pipe to remove the blood gathering in my brain cavity so I wouldn’t die,” Watson writes on social media. “And I haven’t yet. So thanks to a very good and cool neurosurgeon, y’all are stuck with me for a bit.”
Watson, who’s known for his patented “eight-finger technique,” was a member of Night Ranger from 1981 through 2007.
