Axl Rose has seemingly been on his best behavior during the Guns N’ Roses tour. He shows up on time, he smiles on stage and it all makes rock fans enjoy the reunion even more.
But wait, does Rose still have a proverbial axe to grind? This week while performing in Nashville, a fan thought she’d share the spirit of the “Not in This Lifetime” tour by raising a sign reading “Where’s Izzy?” The band wasn’t impressed and soon after security surrounded the fan and demanded the sign to be removed.
Caroline Campos was the fan who held the sign on July 9th and she initially believed that Axl was fine with the reference to the band’s original rhythm guitarist. She wrote on her Facebook page, “Axl [Rose] looked at my sign and started laughing and said ‘That’s a good question!’ He seemed to appreciate the sign. I put the sign away during actual performances so I wouldn’t block the people behind me, only held it up between songs when the lights came on.”
Gun N’ Roses will perform at AT&T Park on August 9th. Let’s avoid Izzy references and enjoy the show.
